Justice and Fairness resource from the British Red Cross

The British Red Cross, in partnership with Allen & Overy LLP, have created a new education programme and teaching resource called Justice and Fairness.

The programme includes teacher conferences, taster sessions, school speaker programmes, an annual competition and youth volunteering projects.

The activities aim to help teachers and students explore issues of fairness and justice through the lens of international humanitarian law. The modules can be downloaded for free on the Red Cross website.

The competition part of the programme enables young people to demonstrate their knowledge and experience of humanitarian issues through creative action projects in their school or local community. They can enter in teams of up to six and must base their entries on topics related to the theme of justice and fairness. The deadline is 20 May 2011.
