A Triumph for Localism…

Triumph… although I don’t think they manufacture them any more.. sturdy rural cars…

A village school near me was debating the building of a new school building to replace their current one. The new one would be at the other end of the village some 800 metres away.

This proposal seemed to find widespread opposition for mind-boggling reasons, the greatest of which was from one lady who was a mother of two kids.

She complained that she was thinking of having another child, and if she did and they moved the school she would have to buy a new car to hold the three children in order to drive them to the school 800 metres further away. This was not affordable to her in these strickened times, so the school should not get a new building…

Who could argue with that??
