Bursaries for young people to take part in community and environment volunteer expeditions

Young people aged 17-24 who would like to take part in a Raleigh expedition can apply for a bursary from the organisation.

The expeditions combine community and environmental work in remote communities with a challenging adventure phase. It is a focused training and development programme that challenges participants physically and mentally, and enables them to develop team working skills through working with people from different countries and socio-economic backgrounds to learn the value of volunteering.

The scheme was launched on 1 April 2011 by the youth and sustainable development charity Raleigh, and is available to 100 people young people. To take part you must be able to demonstrate that, without the funding, you would not be able to participate.
