Matt is a junior at the University of Missouri studying journalism with an emphasis in strategic communications.  Matt has spent the last year gaining experience in the political realm in the United States, as last summer he interned on Capitol Hill and this fall he interned for Senator Roy Blunt in Columbia, Missouri. In addition to politics, Matt has experience writing as during his sophomore year he wrote sports commentary for his school newspaper, the Man-eater.

Matt decided to come to London to gain valuable experience working and studying within a different culture. “I think it is important to work and live outside your comfort zone, even if just for a short period of time”, Matt said. “Through surrounding myself with a brand new culture and new work environment, I will be able to take the skills learned here and use them to the best of my ability not only throughout my time in school, but throughout life.” During his time in London, Matt hopes to not only explore the city as much as he can, but he also wants to travel throughout Europe as this is his first time in this part of the world.

Matt is excited to work with a dynamic charity that plays such an important role in society today, such as The Citizenship Foundation. Matt says, “I believe it is important to promote proper education about important topics in society that have an affect on so many people. The Citizenship Foundation does an outstanding job relaying important subjects that are vital for so many students.” Matt believes communication through media is the future of marketing, so he is excited to get experience in this field as this internship could be the start of a potential marketing career down the road.

Trevor Snaith Head of Marketing and Sales said “It’s great to have Matt on board we are embarking on some interesting product launches and branding programmes over the next few months. Matt has an interesting range of skills and has already displayed a flair for Blog writing and social media”.
